Last week, a new version of Samsung’s popular Galaxy S4 device that supports LTE-Advanced – a type of mobile broadband that has the potential to deliver on the promise of 4G networks – was reportedly spotted. This device is the first smartphone of its kind and offers a wide assortment of hardware specifications that are designed to provide users with an exceptional experience.
The Galaxy S4 LTE-Advanced is believed to be able to deliver higher capacity and peak data rates of up to 3Gbps for downloading and 1.5Gps for uploads. But how is this possible? Essentially, this is due to the leverage of carrier aggregation – different frequencies are merged together, allowing them to be used as one, so that users can enjoy speeds that are faster than ever before.
Photographs of the smartphone have already been leaked, however, revealing a slimline device in attractive colours that doesn’t really look all that different to existing Samsung Galaxy S4’s. The list of purported specifications that have been leaked alongside the photos state that the device includes a quad-core 2.3GHz processor, 2GB RAM, a 2600mAh battery, and a 1920 x 1080 HD display.
It is important to keep in mind, however, that it is unlikely that your Galaxy S4 will achieve a 100% increase in speed. Chances are that you will be able to see a noticeable improvement in the speed when playing games, browsing the internet and when downloading files or applications. The official launch date has yet to have been released, so we will have to wait and see.
