HTC Unveils Feature-Packed One Mini

Yesterday, it was announced that popular smartphone mogul, HTC, would be launching their newest model, the One Mini, in August. This new phone is said to be a smaller and more affordable version of the HTC One, which was released earlier this year (in March). The original One smartphone is HTC’s largest ranged product – sold in 181 countries – and it is hoped that the Mini will follow.

The Mini runs on Android 4.2.2 and incorporates a 4.3 inch HD (720 x 341) touch screen, which is about half an inch smaller than the original One. Some of the other features that the smartphone possesses include a dual core processer, Ultra-Pixel camera, 1080op full HD video recording, 4G compatibility, GPS, WiFi and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The Mini will also include 16GB of internal storage, which is actually only half of that included with the original One. It will also use a 1800mAh battery, which will provide up to 13.27 hours of talk time and up to 692 hours of standby time. CEO of the HTC Corporation, Peter Chou, said “the HTC One Mini embodies everything that makes the HTC One a success on a smaller but equally eye-catching scale.”

It is believed that the Mini’s addition to HTC’s product range is a result of brand awareness for the company being at an all time high. Graham Wheeler, the director for commercialization product management at HTC, claims “94 percent of HTC One owners would recommend the brand” and that awareness for the brand is currently somewhere about the 80 percent mark.
