At the World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco late on Monday evening, Apple CEO Tim Cook announced the next generation of the iOS, known as the iOS 7. It boasts many improvements and additions that Apple users are sure to be excited about, such as a new Control Centre and the ability to multitask. Cook said that this would be the biggest change to the platform since the iPhone was first introduced five years ago.

The iOS 7 beta software and SDK have already been made available for iOS Developer Program members and the Apple team announced that iPhone 4 users and later, iPad 2 users and later, iPod mini and iPod touch users will be able to get a free software update sometime in the coming spring.
